About the Role

Goodnation seeks an AESI Senior Director to build, maintain, and grow the American Economic Security Index into a durable, self-sustaining national institution. This strategist-builder role requires overseeing the build against scope, schedule, and quality; stewarding funder relationships and raising philanthropic resources; delivering a successful launch of AESI; and defining the earned revenue strategy. The Senior Director will report directly to Goodnation's Founder and President.

Responsibilities

  • Build and steward institutional funder relationships.
  • Develop the long-term sustainability model, including philanthropic underwriting, licensing, membership dues, and paid-access uses.
  • Protect mission integrity by setting usage terms and pricing exemptions.
  • Assemble the partner set that makes AESI credible and useful.
  • Drive diffusion through the Roundtable’s network.
  • Institutionalize use by building toolkits, briefings, templates, and training.
  • Track evidence of AESI use and its impact on grantmaking, budgets, and legislation.
  • Embed AESI across the National Roundtable’s workstreams.
  • Position AESI within the National Roundtable’s membership structure.
  • Serve as Goodnation’s principal on the Living Wage Institute agreement.
  • Sequence the build of the AESI dataset, release frequency, depth, and delivery.
  • Direct the public data platform, managing external development partners.
  • Explain and defend the AESI methodology.
  • Serve as a visible, credible public voice for AESI.
  • Manage the communications agency and spokesperson bench.
  • Travel domestically (15-25%) to meet with stakeholders.
  • Proactively share important updates and opportunities with the core team.
  • Support the build and growth of AESI as assigned by the President.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience spanning coalition or field building, public policy, philanthropy, data or research products, and social enterprise or earned-revenue design.
  • Experience building a sustainable revenue model.
  • Experience bringing a data product, index, dashboard, or research platform from build to adoption.
  • Comfort with measurement and methodology.
  • Ability to make AESI understandable to diverse audiences.
  • Deep commitment to sustainable, equitable, systemic change.
