About the Role

The CDL Driver/Agronomy & Grain Operations will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Agronomy & Grain location, performing CDL driving and other essential functions.

Responsibilities

  • Unload, load and transfer grain and grain products including truck operations.
  • Operate grain handling equipment including scales/moisture meter/dryers.
  • Understand the proper operation of conveyance equipment for shipping, receiving, and transferring grain and grain products, including associated safety systems.
  • Work with patrons courteously and professionally.
  • Perform warehouse work including driving loader, forklift, mechanics, and maintenance.
  • Pick up and deliver product to customers as needed.
  • Perform minor repairs and report larger equipment problems to management or mechanic.
  • Coordinate application plans with facility, customers, and drivers to maximize efficiency.
  • Report unsafe equipment or working conditions to management.
  • Maintain a safe working area and keep walkways clean of slip or trip hazards.
  • Perform housekeeping activities as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
  • Accept and offer feedback and suggestions openly and respectfully.
  • Maintain open communication with management and coworkers.
  • Identify and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment while completing maintenance and repairs.
  • Follow all legal regulations and guidelines to maintain a commercial driver’s license.
  • Attend safety and job-related trainings as they become available.
  • Represent yourself and United Cooperative professionally at all times in action and appearance.
  • Promote a customer-focused environment by providing friendly, courteous, and helpful service to coworkers and producers.
  • Work extended hours as requested by supervisor to ensure customer needs are met during busy seasons.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (Class A).
  • Must meet DOT and company requirements.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 75lbs.
  • Required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distant, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
