About the Role

Seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Associate Attorney to join a leading regional defense team specializing in medical malpractice and healthcare provider litigation. This is an exceptional opportunity to develop expertise in a growing practice area while working alongside accomplished partners and legal professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload, focused on medical malpractice claims, ensuring efficient and effective handling of all legal matters.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, team members, and partners on strategic legal projects, fostering teamwork and knowledge-sharing.
  • Take ownership of case-related activities, including court appearances, depositions, motion hearings, legal proceedings, and trial participation.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates, managing expectations, and offering proactive solutions.
  • Draft and review complex legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Contribute to case strategy development and support senior team members in trial and settlement negotiation preparation.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in the state of CA.
  • A minimum of 2 years of defense litigation experience, preferably with a focus on medical malpractice or healthcare defense experience.
  • Nursing Home defense experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present legal arguments clearly and concisely.
