About the Role
Join our team as an experienced system support engineer in Austin, TX. You will understand our trading stack end to end, manage its dependencies, and act swiftly during trading hours. You will collaborate closely with traders and engineers, ensuring seamless trade execution and addressing system issues.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve production issues across proprietary trading systems under live market conditions, including order entry, market data, execution, risk, and underlying infrastructure.
- Own incident response from triage and escalation to timelines, postmortems, and follow-up engineering to prevent recurrence.
- Build and enhance monitoring tools and dashboards to correlate system performance with trading outcomes, incorporating alerting and automation.
- Participate in growing the system, adding new products, and onboarding new exchanges.
- Drive continuous improvement by assessing the team's tools, workflows, and operational processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field of study.
- 5 or more years of experience in technical support.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Shell).
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Linux OS.
- Ability to communicate clearly with traders and developers.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in leading a customer support team is a plus.
- Experience with C++ or Rust is a plus.
- Previous experience in a financial or trading environment is a plus.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
