About the Role
Dominion Energy is seeking a Nuclear Engineering student for the Summer 2027 intern session to work in the Reactor Engineering group of the Nuclear Engineering Department at Millstone Power Station, Waterford CT. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a purpose-driven company that values safety and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Acquire and analyze reactor flux data for periodic power distribution surveillances.
- Perform ranking cycle thermal performance analysis.
- Trend reactor performance.
- Conduct periodic walkdowns of primary systems.
- Develop Reactor Engineering technical products.
- Undertake project assignments based on completed coursework.
- Perform hands-on evaluation of plant modifications.
Requirements
- Must have a reliable source of transportation.
- Must be able to work as a team player and collaborate with various station groups.
- Must be willing to enter the field and perform hands-on evaluation of plant modifications.
Skills
- Working knowledge of engineering theories and principles.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices.
- Information processing and multitasking capabilities.
- Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing.

- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from an ABET accredited program at a four-year college or university.
- Mechanical Engineering majors may also be considered.
- Anticipated graduation date between Fall 2028 and Fall 2029.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Salary/Compensations
- $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
