About the Role
iKids U is seeking experienced childcare staff to train as instructors for leading group activities and ensuring fun at Austin elementary schools. This part-time role follows the 2026-2027 school calendar, offering work/life balance with no weekends.
Responsibilities
- Implement iKids lesson plans and engage children in various enrichment courses.
- Monitor and maintain child safety during playground time, activities, and snack breaks.
- Provide homework assistance and actively engage with students.
- Maintain classroom management.
- Assist in organizing materials and maintaining a child-friendly space.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and parents.
- Support the iKids mission to provide high-quality enrichment, tutoring, and care.
- Anticipate physical demands of a standard classroom and playground setting, potentially lifting 5-30 lbs.
Requirements
- Experience with children in roles such as camps, coaching, teaching, tutoring, workshops, childcare, child development, teacher assistance, special education, child therapy, instructional assistance, substitute teaching, or babysitting/childcare.
- Ability to maintain a consistent, weekly teaching schedule of 2-4 days per week.
- Independent transportation.
- Currently residing in the Austin metroplex.
- Minimum 18 years old.
- Clear background and fingerprinting results.
