About the Role
Pinnacle Fund Services is seeking a Vice President of Private Equity to support the growth of its Private Equity platform. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong client relationship skills, commercial acumen, and emotional intelligence to develop people, strengthen accountability, and scale service delivery while preserving client trust. The position is based in the Toronto area and will provide strategic oversight and client relationship leadership for Private Equity clients, ensuring high-quality fund accounting and financial reporting services.
Responsibilities
- Execute the strategic plan for the Private Equity division, driving profitability, client satisfaction, operational excellence, and long-term growth.
- Lead KPI reviews and divisional performance management, using data and business insight to support clear priorities and sustained improvement.
- Support firmwide transformation, operating standards, continuous improvement, and scalability initiatives.
- Lead Private Equity service delivery teams across locations, ensuring timeliness, quality, consistency, and high standards across accounting, reporting, valuations, and client deliverables.
- Improve client allocation methodologies, workforce planning, utilization, and capacity management to support service complexity, client needs, and sustainable profitability.
- Further standardize operating practices, workflow disciplines, onboarding routines, and readiness for audits and client due diligence.
- Own divisional profitability and operating performance, with oversight of utilization, realization, staffing levels, margins, and client profitability.
- Guide resource strategy, including resource allocation and client profitability, ensuring the division is positioned to deliver service quality, margin performance, and sustainable growth.
- Serve as the executive relationship lead for strategic Private Equity clients, building trusted partnerships focused on retention, service quality, and growth.
- Oversee action points from client reviews and lead the resolution of complex client issues with judgment, professionalism, and follow-through.
- Lead and develop AVPs, Senior Managers, Managers, and future leaders, strengthening leadership capability, succession depth, and performance standards.
- Promote a culture of ownership, collaboration, accountability, commercial judgment, technical credibility, and client excellence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Senior leadership experience in private equity fund administration or alternative investment services.
- Deep technical expertise across fund accounting, reporting, valuations, investor allocations, audits, and client deliverables.
- Proven ability to lead multi-level teams, strengthen performance, and develop future leaders.
- Strong business acumen, with experience managing profitability, utilization, staffing, margins, and client economics.
- Demonstrated success enhancing established operations, standardizing practices, and improving service delivery across locations.
- Executive-level client relationship management skills, supported by sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and credibility with senior stakeholders.
