About the Role

Lola Blankets is a fast-growing comfort and lifestyle brand seeking a Director of Commercial Operations to own the operational infrastructure for wholesale, bulk/corporate, and retail sales channels. This player-coach role requires an experienced operator to professionalize wholesale, build the bulk/gifting channel, and support commercial leadership across off-DTC revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end operational execution for wholesale accounts, ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment.
  • Partner with 3PLs to expand capabilities, forecast demand, ensure compliance, and improve margins.
  • Build and codify wholesale processes and infrastructure for consistent, cost-effective workflows.
  • Provide operational input on account growth timelines, impacts, costs, and commitments to the commercial team.
  • Provide strategic direction for the Channel Operations manager to execute and professionalize wholesale operations.
  • Improve operational infrastructure for bulk and corporate gifting channels, including order types, intake, fulfillment, and communication.
  • Define and document operational handoffs from Commercial to Ops for bulk orders.
  • Identify and evaluate operational requirements for scaling the bulk channel, including custom packaging and kitting.
  • Oversee the emerging retail channel, providing strategic direction and SOP governance.
  • Partner with commercial leadership to understand retail operational needs and ensure adequate resources.
  • Set standards for retail operational performance and hold the team accountable.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues exceeding the Retail Ops Manager's scope.
  • Maintain clear swimlanes and handoffs across Operations, Commercial, Finance, Product, and other teams.
  • Provide operational input into commercial strategy decisions, including channel prioritization and margin modeling.
  • Drive efficiency and higher margins across all channel operations by tracking key performance metrics.
  • Partner with Finance on channel-level cost inputs, operational budgeting, and margin improvement.
  • Build a high-performing, self-directed team.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in channel operations, wholesale/retail operations, and/or commercial enablement operations at a DTC-first / digitally native brand.
  • Deep familiarity with wholesale operational requirements: EDI systems, retailer compliance standards, routing guides, chargeback management, and major account operational workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to build scalable operational infrastructure (playbooks, processes, systems) in a fast-growth, resource-constrained environment.
  • Strong commercial instincts and ability to partner credibly with sales and commercial leaders.
  • Proven people leadership skills.
  • Financially literate, comfortable owning cost metrics and building operational business cases.
  • Self-directed and highly organized.
  • Expertise within Shopify, EDI platforms, and ERP/WMS systems is a plus.
