About the Role

This role involves leading a small team of engineers, providing technical direction and people management. The individual will be hands-on, contributing to feature development, architecture, and shipping code while mentoring and managing the team's growth and morale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team of Associate and Senior Associate engineers.
  • Provide technical direction and day-to-day people management.
  • Accountable for team's delivery quality, growth, and morale.
  • Run 1:1s, code reviews, and technical mentorship.
  • Personally architect and ship features alongside the team.
  • Set technical standards through direct contribution and coaching.
  • Build and ship end-to-end features across the frontend and backend.
  • Integrate with Go-based APIs.
  • Translate climate data into performant, accessible user experiences.
  • Debug issues across the full stack (frontend, backend, data).
  • Partner with platform engineers and data teams to ensure product behavior reflects real-world data.
  • Manage and mentor Associates, driving code quality and engineering standards.

Requirements

  • Strong frontend fundamentals (UI architecture, performance, accessibility).
  • Comfort working across the stack.
  • Experience building and integrating APIs in production systems.
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring engineers (even informally).
  • Familiarity with GraphQL, geospatial or data-heavy systems.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with PMs and designers.
  • A growth mindset.
  • Comfort operating with urgency in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.

Salary/Compensations

  • $105,000 - $137,000 / year plus eligible for annual bonus
