About the Role
The Asset Owner Coverage team works closely with institutional investors in the US, keeping clients apprised of market trends and best practices. The team collaborates across MSCI to leverage research, tools, and services, aiming to add value to clients' investment and operations processes. Asset Owner Sales Specialists are responsible for maintaining existing client relationships and new business development, balancing relationship management with commercial objectives.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop new business within the Eastern US territory.
- Drive sales, achieve revenue, and benchmark adoption targets.
- Educate, position, and license MSCI’s global indexes, Sustainability and Climate tools to current and prospective clients.
- Utilize knowledge of the investment management process, modern portfolio theory, and sustainability-driven insights to position MSCI solutions.
- Manage strategic accounts, including senior-level relationship management, discussions regarding MSCI's Index, Sustainability and Climate methodologies, commercial and contract negotiation, closing sales, and product setup and delivery.
- Educate on the enhancements and evolution of how MSCI's indexes and sustainable investing products are used.
- Work closely with MSCI Product Management, Global Client Service, Client Consultants, Marketing, Global Sales colleagues, Legal Counsel, and Finance Operations.
- Educate potential clients about cross-asset investment trends and how MSCI can enhance their capabilities through ESG Research, Climate, Index, Factor, Private Asset, and Analytics solutions.
- Consistently meet and exceed sales and business objectives.
- Identify opportunities and close sales to new prospects.
- Work with the wider sales group to achieve cross-segment opportunities across all Product lines at MSCI via synergies from information sharing and collaboration.
- Communicate suggestions to improve, customize, or create new products and solutions.
- Gather and share industry trends and competitive intelligence to senior management.
- Grow network and attend relevant industry events.
Requirements
- Excellent communication, networking, and inter-personal skills, with absolute personal and business integrity.
- Innovative, entrepreneurial, customer-oriented thinker with a strong consultative sales drive.
- A team builder and player with emotional and professional maturity.
- A good understanding of the institutional investment process, including risk management, active versus passive investing, asset allocation, and ESG integration.
- 5+ years of experience in the financial service industry.
- Minimum of 4 years direct sales experience with a proven record of achievement and accomplishment.

Salary/Compensations
- $125,000 - $163,000 / year. Plus eligible for annual bonus.
