About the Role

The energy market is undergoing significant transformation. RABOT is experiencing rapid growth, and with it, increasing complexity in the electricity and gas markets. Our portfolio management team is crucial for steering the portfolio and optimizing procurement daily. We are seeking quantitative analysis and programming expertise to enhance our capabilities. This is an ideal opportunity to join a growing company, contribute directly to real trading decisions, and potentially secure a permanent role.

Responsibilities

  • Support the portfolio management and trading team with quantitative market analysis and Python.
  • Evaluate spot, intraday, and forward price data for electricity and gas markets.
  • Analyze forecast accuracy and prepare decision-making bases for daily trading.
  • Improve, automate, and maintain fundamental price models for German spot and forward electricity markets.
  • Work with market data from various sources (EPEX, ENTSO-E, Netztransparenz, etc.).
  • Build Python dashboards to replace the current Excel market tool.
  • Automate risk reports.
  • Assist in developing and backtesting algorithmic trading strategies for spot and intraday markets against historical market data.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program, ideally in a quantitative field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, or Finance).
  • Seeking a six-month internship.
  • Proficient in Python programming.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills in handling (market) data.
  • Genuine interest in energy and electricity markets, as well as Market Finance.
  • Desire to understand trading and price formation mechanisms.
  • Meticulous and structured work approach.
  • Data-driven decision-making.
  • Very good written and spoken German and English.
