About the Role
The Student Mobility Officer develops, coordinates, and processes transfer credits and prior learning assessments to support students with previous related academic and work experience. This role is crucial for enhancing student choice by expanding degrees and pathways, acting as the subject matter expert on transferability and pathways between Humber and non-Humber courses and programs.
Responsibilities
- Develops, coordinates, and processes transfer credits and prior learning assessments.
- Acts as the subject matter expert on transferability and pathways.
- Provides information and communicates with prospective students, applicants, guidance counselors, parents, faculty, and college administrators regarding transferability options.
- Analyzes and recommends solutions or enhancements to transfer-related processes.
- Advocates for and supports students with transfer credit inquiries and options.
- Updates communications and training documentation for transfer credits, pathways, Letter of Permission, and Prior Learning Assessment Recognition.
- Trains staff on new initiatives, process revisions, and Ministry changes impacting transferability.
Requirements
- Three years of related work experience.
- Ability to work in a highly automated environment.
- Demonstrated initiative in work planning and proactive customer concern addressing.
- Consistent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks, interruptions, fluctuating volumes, and deadlines.
- Superior communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes.
- Thorough knowledge of the secondary school, college, and university system.
- Some knowledge of the educational systems of other provinces and countries.
- Leadership skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to train and motivate a team.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated proficiency in student information systems, especially relational databases.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
