About the Role
The Goddard School of Hastings on Hudson is seeking a passionate and nurturing Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher to join their early childhood team. This role offers an opportunity to impact children during their formative years in a play-based learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants and toddlers in alignment with Goddard School standards
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that supports early childhood development
- Monitor and document each child's developmental milestones and communicate progress to families
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children, parents, and caregivers through consistent and open communication
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare setting
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) for children ages 0-3
- Current or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
- Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine passion for early childhood education
- Ability to meet state licensing requirements for lead teacher qualifications in New York
