About the Role

STATION Austin is seeking a dynamic individual to be the primary point of contact for visitors and members, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This role involves assisting guests, supporting gift shop operations, and contributing to the vibrant community atmosphere of an innovation hub.

Responsibilities

Greet every visitor promptly with a smile.
Assist guests in finding members or events using STATION Austin platform tools and online directory.
Escort guests to their destinations.
Provide the STATION Austin elevator pitch.
Answer basic questions about STATION Austin, membership, sponsorship, and investment opportunities.
Assist with mail duties.
Advocate for member and visitor engagement by suggesting relevant people or events.
Request business cards or contact information for follow-up.
Assist guests with gift shop purchases.
Support the Workplace Team and Gift shop with stocking and data entry tasks.
Provide backup to other Properties roles during periods of short staffing.

Requirements

Outgoing personality with the ability to converse with diverse individuals.
Possess a "yes, and…" attitude and ability to turn negatives into positives.
Communicative, polite, and helpful.
Able to perform physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, and lifting/carrying 25 lbs.
Maintain office security by following safety procedures, controlling access, and working with security partners.
Operate with discretion and professionalism, especially with VIP visitors.
Document information using lists and spreadsheets.
Proactive problem-solver who can create systems from chaos.
Organized and able to plan ahead while remaining flexible to last-minute changes.
Willing to check email in evenings and work during evening events and weekends when necessary.
Possess a reliable laptop computer and smartphone.
Intend to stay in Texas for at least two years.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Communicate proactively when unable to meet deadlines and suggest solutions.
Be professional, presentable, and greet everyone cheerfully.
Be prepared to interact with a wide range of individuals, from students to CEOs and government officials.
Have reliable transportation.
Have a quiet place with fast internet for remote work.
Be security aware, using passcodes and a password manager.
Be able to efficiently use Google suite productivity tools (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
Be available to work during SXSW, DREAMCON, and Austin Startup Week.
