About the Role
BHSI is seeking a motivated and curious individual to join our New York Casualty Team as a Summer Intern. This 12-week paid internship offers a deep dive into the world of commercial underwriting, providing hands-on experience in assessing risk, structuring policies, and collaborating with internal and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Learn how to evaluate and underwrite casualty liability risks.
- Gain exposure to the insurance lifecycle and the broader commercial casualty market.
- Collaborate with experienced underwriters and cross-functional teams.
- Meet external broker partners and clients to build your professional network.
- Participate in real-world projects that impact customers and the business.
Requirements
- Interest in Insurance, underwriting, market trends or pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Risk Management).
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in math and comfortable with statistics, probability and financial principles.
