About the Role
The successful candidate will contribute to improving achievement outcomes and the student experience within the Computing department. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching, coaching, assessment planning, and monitoring learner progress. Collaboration with the curriculum team and verification colleagues is essential for effective delivery of the digital curriculum, including Level 3 ICT, T Levels, and Apprenticeships.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and demonstrate Computing and Digital subjects to a high standard in line with the college’s mission.
- Be responsible for teaching and learning of students, both individually and in groups.
- Act as Personal Tutor and/or Course Manager, monitoring attendance and liaising with parents/guardians and other agencies.
- Prepare effective Scheme of work, Assessment and lesson plans flexible to students’ needs, embedding English, Math, and functional skills.
- Keep records, monitor, and track students’ progress and maintain management information and statistical data for QA and audit purposes.
- Carry out duties and responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and associated legislation.
- Be involved with student recruitment and events outside of normal college hours.
- Evaluate the quality of provision within the programme area and ensure compliance with quality mechanisms.
- Support the College in the development of appropriate and safe work placement opportunities for learners.
- Participate actively and flexibly in college-wide activities, enrolment and marketing events, and staff and student activities.
- Participate in training and team development activities to develop skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to promote the principle of equality and diversity.
- Be familiar with Child Protection requirements and comply with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
- Undertake additional duties or projects as determined by the Principal or line manager after consultation.
Requirements
- Full engagement with the College’s Mission and Values, ensuring these are embedded consistently within all working practices.
- Familiarity with Child Protection requirements as outlined in the Child Protection Policy and compliance with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
