About the Role

As a Graduate Land Surveyor, you will develop technical knowledge and practical surveying skills while working on live construction and civil engineering projects. You will support the surveying team in carrying out surveys, collecting and analysing data, and delivering accurate information relating to land, buildings, and infrastructure projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to begin their career within a leading construction and civil engineering business, gaining exposure to various surveying techniques, technologies, and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with topographical and site surveys.
  • Support the collection and processing of survey data.
  • Learn to use surveying equipment, including GPS, Total Stations, laser scanners and drones.
  • Assist with the production of drawings, maps and reports using AutoCAD and other surveying software.
  • Support the surveying team with setting out activities on site.
  • Interpret survey information from maps, drawings and site plans.
  • Assist with volume calculations and earthworks surveys.
  • Help to maintain accurate survey records and project documentation.
  • Support as-built, deformation monitoring and control surveys.
  • Learn how GIS and digital mapping systems are used within construction projects.
  • Collaborate with Site Engineers, Project Managers and other project stakeholders.
  • Assist with equipment checks, calibration and maintenance.
  • Adhere to company health, safety and quality standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Qualified to HND or Degree level in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Right to work in UK and Ireland.
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • An appreciation of Health & Safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Previous work experience specifically in the Construction Industry.
  • Able to demonstrate problem solving.
  • Commercial Awareness: strong business acumen combined with the creativity and vision to meet customer needs and GRAHAM business requirements.
  • Leadership skills: Communicates and gains team commitment to a vision, able to motivate staff and provide direction and vision.
