About the Role

GitGuardian is seeking an HR Manager to partner with Go-To-Market managers and own the US employee experience end-to-end. This generalist role is ideal for someone looking to shape HR functions in a fast-growing startup, with a focus on business partnering as the team grows. The role involves significant collaboration with leadership and requires travel to Paris.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with US Go-To-Market managers and teams in the US and France.
  • Coach managers on team and individual situations, including ramp-up, performance, difficult conversations, promotions, and exits.
  • Ensure performance reviews occur and performance is actively managed.
  • Handle employee relations with a fair, documented process and provide risk-mitigation advice.
  • Own the accuracy of US payroll, including new hire setup, separations, and tax treatment.
  • Administer benefits programs, including open enrollment and plan option evaluation.
  • Administer federal and state leave programs and maintain compliance with evolving employment law.
  • Support compensation benchmarking and pay equity initiatives.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Coordinate with immigration counsel for US visa sponsorship and cross-border moves.
  • Identify HR workflows for automation using AI.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience owning US payroll, benefits, and multi-state compliance, ideally through a PEO.
  • Solid experience as an HR Business Partner for business teams, ideally sales or GTM managers, including senior leaders, in a tech startup or scale-up.
  • Ability to influence rather than enforce, understand manager needs, and provide solutions.
  • Strong business judgment to assess risks and facilitate business velocity.
  • Demonstrated ownership and accountability, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Discretion with confidential information and a warm demeanor with people.
  • Experience in an international company, ideally working with European (French) colleagues.
  • Experience using AI tools and automating HR workflows.
  • Experience with compensation benchmarking, US immigration, and global mobility.
