About the Role
RD Appliance Service, Corp. is seeking an experienced technician to provide commercial kitchen equipment service and installation in the NY Metro area. We are a family-owned business serving Long Island since 1963, known for professionalism and expertise. This role is ideal for a self-motivated technician with a knack for troubleshooting and time management, seeking a positive work culture within an organized and professional service company.
Responsibilities
- Accurately diagnose and repair appliances/equipment on site
- Install new equipment when required
- Provide cost estimates for repairs/installations and collect payment and/or payment information from customers for work performed
- Ensure the efficient use of materials and keep company vehicle and equipment properly serviced
- Complete invoices, daily route sheets, and weekly reports as required
- Perform other duties as needed which may include cross-training in related positions
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience repairing commercial cooking equipment
- Must be able to read schematics
- Must understand basic electricity
- Must have High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have clean and valid NYS driver's license
- Must be able to pass background and drug test
- Must speak English
- Must have own hand tools and basic test equipment
- Must attend periodic training classes
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
