About the Role

The Tax Analyst is an integral member of Latham’s Tax team, serving as a tax specialist for the firm across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia (EMEA). This role focuses on income tax return schedules, tax compliance, tax procedures, and tax research projects, collaborating with accounting teams to analyze financial information and prepare tax schedules for various returns.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with external tax advisors/accountants for tax filings in the EMEA region.
  • Review and reconcile accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and financial reports.
  • Perform quality assurance procedures on financial data.
  • Assist with general tax administration, including handling tax payments and preparing reconciliations.
  • Prepare cash flow and income/tax estimates for partners.
  • Work with the Tax Manager and Director of Tax on ad hoc tax projects.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate superior organizational and follow-through skills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detail.
  • Exhibit proficiency in preparing Excel reconciliations, identifying variances, and presenting explanations and resolutions.
  • Possess a good understanding of accounting concepts and knowledge of tax rules.
  • Experience in general accounting concepts and/or partnership/corporate tax accounting.
  • Relevant experience with European, Middle East, and Asian tax compliance, preparing partnership tax returns, and corporate tax returns.
  • Related experience in a multi-office professional services organization.
