About the Role
Change Grow Live (CGL) is seeking a dedicated and outcome-focused Recovery Worker to join their Ealing Drug and Alcohol Team. This role supports homeless individuals with substance use needs, many of whom face additional challenges. The worker will manage a caseload and provide assertive outreach in the community.
Responsibilities
- Engage with individuals misusing substances and experiencing homelessness to connect them with services and promote stable lifestyles.
- Enhance service user choice, involvement, and empowerment for sustainable change.
- Collaborate proactively to ensure coordinated services and achievement of client goals.
- Develop service users' personal strengths and social networks.
- Provide flexible and effective interventions to engage hard-to-reach service users.
Requirements
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Confidence in building and maintaining relationships with diverse services.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Patience and confidence working with clients unwilling to engage or exhibiting challenging behavior.
- Willingness to work unsociable hours as required.
- Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to critically reflect and evaluate interventions and service delivery.
- Experience of working as part of an outreach team (desirable).
- Experience working with people experiencing homelessness (desirable).
- Experience within the substance misuse sector (desirable).
- Knowledge of local services and geography (desirable).
- Must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not provided.
