About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Product Designer who excels at deep thinking, rapid execution, and meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate will untangle complex challenges, conceptualize behaviors and end-to-end experiences, and apply a high standard of visual and interaction design to their work. We value designers who are curious, have strong opinions, and are eager to experiment. You will explore, prototype, test, and learn proactively, challenging conventional ideas, articulating your thought process clearly, and possessing the judgment to identify and propose better solutions. Collaboration is key, so openness, constructive feedback, and empathy for customers and colleagues are essential. We are looking for individuals who take ownership, maintain curiosity, and are enthusiastic about tackling the intricate problems inherent in building ambitious products.
Responsibilities
- Own product work end to end, partnering with product and engineering from problem definition through exploration, validation, delivery, launch, and iteration.
- Stay involved through implementation and QA, not just handoff.
- Turn ambiguity into clear product direction by breaking down complex problems, identifying assumptions, surfacing risks and edge cases, and clearly communicating rationale, trade-offs, and intended outcomes.
- Design complete journeys rather than isolated screens, considering flows, behaviors, systems, states, transitions, permissions, dependencies, errors, empty states, content, and their integration into the broader product.
- Explore and prototype broadly using sketching, flow mapping, writing, prototyping, and testing various approaches before converging.
- Utilize Figma, code, or AI-assisted tools to accelerate learning and advance ideas.
- Produce high-quality visual and interaction design, creating polished interfaces with strong hierarchy, composition, typography, interaction patterns, and attention to detail.
- Validate assumptions directly with customers through lightweight interviews, usability tests, and prototype reviews to inform decisions and adjust direction.
- Raise the quality bar by providing thoughtful critique, sharing patterns and learnings, strengthening the design system, and contributing to the design team's processes.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience designing digital products, with a focus on complex or systems-heavy products.
- A proven track record of owning significant product work from problem definition through launch and iteration.
- Strong independent product judgment, with the ability to reason through problems, challenge assumptions, ask pertinent questions, and develop a clear point of view.
- Proficiency in interaction design, focusing on product behavior and designing clear flows across multiple states, scenarios, and user types.
- Excellent visual design skills, demonstrating strong hierarchy, layout, typography, component usage, and attention to detail.
- Strong written communication skills for creating clear product copy, explaining design rationale, documenting decisions, and simplifying complex ideas.
- Experience planning and independently running customer interviews or usability tests.
- Ability to quickly sketch, diagram, prototype, and explore ideas without reliance on polished tools or AI-generated output.
- A portfolio showcasing product thinking, interaction design, visual quality, and end-to-end ownership, with an emphasis on the design process.
- Comfort collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineers on feasibility, trade-offs, scope, and success metrics.
- Experience working with design systems, including knowing when to reuse, extend, or reconsider existing patterns.
- Fluency with modern AI tools and an understanding of their value and limitations, using them thoughtfully rather than depending on them.
