About the Role

Canadian Solar is establishing a new Capital Markets function to finance and monetize its expanding business and project portfolio. This role is crucial for building the necessary processes, tools, and infrastructure for a scalable Capital Markets operation. The position involves hands-on support for debt and equity financing, tax credit monetization, financial modeling, and transaction execution.

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage debt and equity financings for Canadian Solar Inc. and its subsidiaries, including project-level financings for manufacturing facilities and corporate-level capital raises for business units.
  • Execute financial analysis and prepare materials, including project and platform financial modeling, updating financing assumptions, and preparing financing decks and investor materials.
  • Coordinate financing processes and diligence, including lender and investor outreach, information management, internal team coordination, and responding to diligence requests.
  • Execute transaction workstreams through closing, including maintaining trackers, coordinating documentation, and managing milestones.
  • Assist in building the Capital Markets function by developing and improving financial models, templates, processes, and tools.
  • Support and manage the monetization of 45X tax credits associated with US Manufacturing projects.
  • Maintain relationships with banks, lenders, institutional investors, rating agencies, and financial advisors.
  • Engage regularly with business leaders such as the President of CS Powertech, CEO of CS Sunshine, and CFO of Canadian Solar Inc.
  • Act as a core execution and team-building resource for the Capital Markets function, supporting active transactions and building internal infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years of relevant experience in capital markets, investment banking, corporate finance, treasury, private credit, project finance, or a related field.
  • Experience executing debt and/or equity financing transactions.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation, financial modeling, capital structures, and corporate finance.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong PowerPoint/presentation capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex transactions and priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience in renewable energy, energy storage, power, infrastructure, manufacturing, or technology is preferred.
  • Experience working across international markets is a plus.
