About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Senior Insurance Data Lead to join DoorDash’s Corporate Risk & Insurance function within the Finance & Strategy team. This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance our data capabilities, provide data-driven insights for insurance risk management decisions, and advise on operational strategy and insurance program structuring. You will report to the Manager, Insurance Data.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and maintenance of key insurance metrics that drive business decisions on DoorDash’s insurance strategies.
Own and develop insurance data infrastructure to support the increasing demand for insurance analytics by creating data pipelines and data models with high data quality.
Design and report insurance and claim-related analytics to help optimize insurance operation strategies.
Collaborate closely with senior team members to define and report monthly performance metrics and make suggestions on risk mitigation strategies.
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless task execution within established timelines.

Requirements

4-7 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, insurance analytics, financial analytics, or a related analytical role.
Strong SQL skills and Python experience for data extraction, transformation, validation, and automation.
Experience building reports, dashboards, reconciliations.
Familiarity with using cursor is a plus.
Experience working with large, multi-source datasets and translating business requirements into clear data logic and reporting.
Familiarity with ETL processes, data models, data-quality checks, and documentation practices.
Working knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance is preferred.
Actuarial, insurance operations, carrier reporting, claims, billing, or exposure-data experience is a plus.
Experience in a gig, delivery, mobility, marketplace, or sharing-economy business is a plus.
