About the Role

As a Research & Analysis specialist within ANZ’s Corporate segment, you will support the growth and management of large corporate clients. You will partner with Relationship Managers, Credit Executives, and clients to deliver in-depth credit analysis, portfolio insights, and risk assessments. This role involves contributing to complex transactions, developing tailored customer solutions, and maintaining a strong focus on risk management. You will also undertake industry research, monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging risks, and manage high-risk exposures. The role offers the opportunity to exercise delegated credit authority and provide leadership to Analysts and Associates.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and effectively manage risks inherent in the client's business model and industry.
  • Identify and manage risks inherent in the client’s capital and management structure, and emerging performance results.
  • Conduct sound credit assessment, risk evaluation & mitigation strategies, lending decisions, and proactive account management.
  • Develop strategy and supporting plans for new transactions, deteriorating credits, and deal structuring/opportunities.
  • Contribute to maximizing profitable growth for the segment.
  • Build and maintain effective customer engagement to ensure a strong understanding of customer’s commercial objectives.
  • Engage in credit workshops involving Relationship, Product, and Risk to determine risk appetite and deal structures.
  • Exercise CAD when deemed appropriate from a risk management perspective.
  • Ensure adherence to ANZ policies, processes, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of R&A processes and relevant dependent processes and product areas with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Manage deal documentation.
  • Provide effective leadership and development of the team, offering timely and appropriate mentoring and coaching.

Requirements

  • Strong credit skills with the ability to structure complex financing arrangements.
  • Ability to present a detailed risk assessment and business proposition.
  • Demonstrated financial analysis skills beyond traditional accounting-based analysis.
  • Ability to identify key business drivers and mitigate key risks.
  • Experience in customer management.
  • Broad knowledge of processes and procedures.
  • Sound communication, interpersonal, and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a team.
  • Proven analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • People leadership capability with the willingness and ability to support the development of peers.
