About the Role
Cogir Senior Living is seeking a values-driven Health and Wellness Manager with a passion for overseeing and managing clinical programs. This role is crucial for providing top-notch, individualized service to residents, ensuring their safety and well-being, and leading a highly effective clinical team. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to maximize resident satisfaction and foster a supportive community.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the clinical program.
- Ensure resident and employee safety and well-being.
- Hire and train clinical experts.
- Deliver best-in-class care to residents.
- Inspire the team to live organizational values.
- Work closely with the Executive Director, regional clinical team, and departmental managers.
- Maximize resident satisfaction and ensure a positive living experience.
- Cultivate strong relationships with residents, family members, employees, managers, and regional support teams and agencies.
- Participate in care conferences.
- Conduct resident assessments.
- Develop service plans.
- Adhere to all relevant organizational, provincial, and federal acts and regulations.
- Ensure legal and ethical compliance in resident care.
Requirements
- Currently registered as a Registered Practical Nurse, Registered Psychiatric Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse from the applicable provincial professional regulatory body with competency to perform skills within their scope of practice.
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant clinical experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience, preferably in a retirement residence.
- Experience managing a multidisciplinary team in a unionized environment.
- Experience in mentoring, training, and developing nursing staff.
- Experience recruiting and building a strong team.
- Good understanding of budgets and financials.
- Up-to-date knowledge of regulations, acts, program standards, and pertinent provincial legislation.
- Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) within the last six months or be willing to obtain one.
