About the Role
Sony Interactive Entertainment's Logistics Strategy Department supports the global supply chain for the PlayStation business, managing end-to-end logistics from factory shipment to regional transport for PlayStation hardware and peripherals. This role will initially focus on stable operations in mass production shipment management, with future expansion into factory logistics collaboration and improvement areas. The goal is to resolve knowledge silos and strengthen the organization by developing future leaders.
Responsibilities
- Manage shipment progress from factory to port, arrange and monitor shipments.
- Coordinate shipment schedules and liaise with relevant departments (production control, supply/demand).
- Manage practical adjustments and relationships with logistics partners.
- Ensure accuracy of trade documents and shipment-related data, and manage shipment quality.
- Handle transportation issues.
- Manage transportation cost budgets.
- Standardize shipment processes and improve operations.
- Promote measures for lead time reduction and quality improvement.
- Utilize data for visualization and efficiency improvements.
- Engage in cross-functional tasks with factory logistics technology domains.
- Participate in optimizing transportation modes and routes.
- Expand involvement in cost reduction and KPI management.
- Contribute to strategic areas such as E2E overall design, logistics construction with a BCP perspective, and procurement of transportation services.
Requirements
- Over 3 years of practical experience in international logistics within manufacturing or supply chain (approximately 5 years preferred).
- Experience coordinating with logistics partners.
- Data analysis skills, including practical experience in data processing, aggregation, and visualization using operational data.
- Native-level Japanese proficiency (able to conduct negotiations, meetings, and create documents).
- Above conversational English proficiency (able to use writing and speaking in business contexts).
- Management experience.
- Experience in transportation cost management or KPI management.
- Experience working with overseas locations or overseas assignments.
- Experience promoting system implementation or business improvement projects.
- Ability to structurally grasp and resolve issues in a rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to drive operations by engaging stakeholders from different positions such as production control, logistics, and overseas locations.
- Ability to simultaneously promote improvement and optimization while understanding on-site operations.
- Proactive problem-setting and completion attitude even in uncertain situations.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership while cooperating with internal and external stakeholders.
