About the Role
The Business Development Associate role requires a motivated individual to recognize and create new business opportunities. This role involves prospecting, lead generation, lead qualification, and pipeline creation, working closely with the Business Development Manager and senior leadership. The associate will be active on social media and industry groups, ideally with CRM and prospecting tool experience.
Responsibilities
- Achieve assigned appointment and revenue targets
- Prospecting and building organic pipeline within designated targets
- Nurture relationships with targeted prospects via various communications channels including social media (LinkedIn) and email
- Lead prospect follow-up, arranging calls/meetings with prospects and managing multiple business development engagements
- Research prospects to identify targets for outbound activities
- Provide support for marketing events
- Participate in strategic development of territory and accounts
- Work closely with OneStream sales teams to develop pipelines in various markets
- View new learning opportunities enthusiastically and gather knowledge to improve skills and capabilities
- Maintain CRM data quality
- Be able to clearly articulate the value of Ascend Partners and its differentiators
- Understand the OneStream platform, its value and be able to articulate that to clients and prospects
- Possess a high level of written communication skills and can relay information clearly via email
- Network internally, externally, and with key OneStream contacts
- Convert prospects into clients and maintain those relationships
- Build trust with clients and prospects and be their go-to point of contact
- Assist in the planning of corporate client events while helping drive attendance
- Ensure accuracy of all communication with prospects, clients, and partners
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within the CRM
- Be a valued contributor on all ad-hoc projects and initiatives
- Be open to constructive criticism designed to improve skills
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
- College diploma or bachelor's degree in fields such as Accounting, Business, Finance, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience
- One to three years of successful business experience
- Outgoing personality
- Sales experience helpful, but not necessary
- Financial or Accounting background helpful
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- CRM experience helpful, but not necessary
- Must be results driven with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to prioritize and multitask tasks effectively
- Take initiative, willing and eager to learn, and self-motivated
- Must be team-oriented and able to work in a collaborative environment
- Actively seeks knowledge and experience and shares their experience with others
- Able to travel across Canada and internationally as required
- Must be willing to travel and work in various business locations or remotely as applicable

- $60,000 to $70,000 CAD base salary, plus commission
- Commission structured as $500 per meeting held and $250 per event attendee generated
