About the Role
We are seeking a customer-facing engineer to develop AI-powered tools and workflows for the Growth team, enabling prospective customers to leverage AI in their businesses. You will collaborate with Product on project definition and scope, taking ownership of engineering execution, including coding, system integration, testing, and deployment. This role requires comfort in making independent technical decisions to deliver practical, reliable solutions and serving as a technical resource for Growth and Sales teams in prospect conversations.
Responsibilities
- Own engineering execution, partnering with Product on defined projects and managing implementation.
- Build AI-powered tools, applications, scripts, and integrations, making technical decisions and managing debugging, testing, deployment, and iteration.
- Connect LLMs, APIs, and business data to solve concrete workflow problems, evaluating outputs, handling errors, and improving reliability.
- Join prospect conversations and email threads to answer technical questions, demonstrate AI applications, and help Sales secure next steps.
- Provide practical advice to nontechnical operators, demonstrating tools and approaches, and explaining effective AI usage and verification.
- Understand prospect workflows to offer sound technical guidance and build prototypes, scripts, or tools with sample data for follow-up.
- Document built components, reuse where appropriate, and communicate technical constraints and tradeoffs to Product and Core Engineering.
Requirements
- 4+ years of technical experience, including AI or analytics practice at a consulting firm or in a forward-deployed/solutions engineering role.
- Experience building AI-powered tools used by real people, including prompt engineering, retrieval, agents, and evaluations.
- Ability to explain LLM functionality to non-technical individuals clearly and effectively.
- Strong client-facing instincts, including reading a room, handling skeptical executives, and providing constructive feedback.
- Willingness to engage directly in client calls and meetings, as approximately half of the work week involves people-facing activities.
