About the Role

The Brand Manager is responsible for building the future of Aperitif culture in Japan, driving the growth of Aperol and Campari. This role focuses on shaping new drinking occasions, introducing Aperitivo to Japanese consumers, and delivering modern, culturally resonant brand experiences. The position also provides stewardship for Cognac, Champagne, and Agave, blending strategic brand building, cultural insight, and hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Japan Aperitivo strategy, defining occasions, rituals, and seasonal moments.
  • Adapt and elevate global brand platforms, ensuring cultural and seasonal relevance in Japan.
  • Build culturally relevant brand experiences and storytelling that strengthen awareness, desirability, and distinctiveness.
  • Drive organic brand discovery and cultural relevance through influential partners, hospitality networks, and lifestyle communities.
  • Track and optimize brand performance across awareness, trial, penetration, and equity KPIs.
  • Own integrated brand planning across digital, social, PR, earned media, and consumer activations.
  • Guide creative localization and content selection with alignment to the global brand framework and distinctive brand codes.
  • Develop and execute memorable consumer activations (seasonal events, collaborations, limited-time experiences).
  • Collaborate with influencers, bartenders, and cultural tastemakers to amplify brand relevance and engagement.
  • Provide focused and disciplined stewardship for Cognac, Champagne, and Agave, including annual brand plans, clear priorities, and basic PR presence.
  • Maintain brand identity consistency, pricing architecture, and SKU discipline.
  • Surface growth opportunities and risk areas across the portfolio.
  • Align with Sales and Channel & Customer Marketing (CCM) on priorities and channel focus.
  • Provide brand strategy, priorities, and assets to CCM for translation into trade programs.
  • Partner with Finance on business planning, A&P stewardship, pricing, and margin management.
  • Collaborate with SCM on forecasting, demand planning, and inventory management.
  • Work with Legal/Regulatory to ensure compliant claims, labels, and communications.
  • Ensure master data accuracy, timely back-label updates, artwork coordination, and regulatory compliance across brands.
  • Drive forecast accuracy across multiple SKUs; monitor stock and mitigate supply risks.
  • Track price/mix impacts and recommend adjustments to protect margins and competitive positioning.
  • Align with Global and APAC Regional teams on annual priorities, brand strategy, communications, and innovation.
  • Adapt toolkits/assets as needed while representing Japan market needs in global planning cycles.
  • Provide Japan consumer and market insights to influence global/regional strategic direction.
  • Maintain continuous communication to ensure consistency between global/regional direction and Japan execution.
  • Ensure brand integrity by maintaining strict adherence to global brand guidelines and local regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee accuracy of product master data, labeling, claims, and brand information across all platforms.

Requirements

  • 3–7 years in brand management or marketing (FMCG/beverages/lifestyle/luxury).
  • Demonstrated experience driving integrated brand building (PR, influencer, digital, experiential).
  • Strong creative judgment and ability to manage brand identity with discipline.
  • Analytical capability; able to turn insights into actionable plans.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication; able to manage multiple brands at once.
  • Organized and proactive, with strong ownership across both strategic and operational tasks.
