About the Role
As a Mechanical Estimator at Ambient Mechanical, you will work closely with experienced construction professionals, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. You will gain exposure to projects from initial tender through to construction, playing an important role in the company's growth and success. This role offers the opportunity to utilize your estimating expertise, continue growing your technical and commercial knowledge, and see the results of your work come to life.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new tendering opportunities.
- Review proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine labour, material, equipment, and time requirements.
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and pricing.
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs.
- Coordinate and manage tender closings and ensure submissions are accurate and complete.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date estimating and cost information within the CRM and cost database.
- Investigate special projects and obtain and evaluate quotations as required.
- Attend site visits and meetings to support estimating and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, co-workers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Company objectives.
Requirements
- Some travel may be required to attend site visits and conduct on-site investigations.
- Ability to attend and, where required, lead presentations and meetings.
