About the Role
Medtronic Digital Technologies is developing compact, high-performance, embedded systems for edge computing and connectivity, aiming to create a connected ecosystem and leverage computer vision for surgical insights. This role focuses on developing and maintaining critical software engineering tools and architecture to enhance engineering efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement, supporting diverse software engineering groups with pragmatic solutions.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and maintain the Infrastructure as Code repository for optimal cloud resource support.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to improve engineer efficiency through automation.
- Provide observability tools for engineers to self-diagnose issues.
- Identify and resolve gaps in developer productivity.
- Offer technical mentorship to team members and others.
Requirements
- 6+ years of platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE experience with IaC tools (OpenTofu, EKS, Helm).
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, make progress with incomplete information, break down complex problems, and adapt to evolving requirements.
- Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in production, with a strong understanding of architectural trade-offs.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (preferably AWS), databases, APIs, and modern DevOps practices.
- Willingness to commute to London 2-3 days per week.
