About the Role
Join a technology team supporting sophisticated capital markets operations within a large global financial institution. This group develops and maintains mission-critical applications used by the business, combining software engineering, technical architecture, and close partnership with business users and analysts. The environment is well suited for a senior engineer who enjoys hands-on development, solving complex technical problems independently, and contributing to broader application design decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and support software solutions used within a capital markets environment.
- Serve as a hands-on senior developer with a primary emphasis on C#/.NET development.
- Participate in technical design decisions involving application architecture, development environments, and implementation approaches.
- Build and maintain solutions involving data and message transfer, processing, and application integration.
- Partner directly with business users and analysts to translate requirements into reliable technical solutions.
- Share designs, technical approaches, and solutions with the broader development team while contributing to long-term technology direction.
- Troubleshoot complex application issues independently and deliver solutions for business-critical systems.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant software engineering/development experience aligned with a senior-level environment.
- Strong hands-on programming expertise with C# and .NET; C++ experience is also relevant.
- Solid computer science fundamentals and strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience designing or implementing systems that transfer, process, or exchange data and messages between applications.
- Ability to contribute to software design and architecture while remaining actively involved in coding and implementation.
- Experience supporting sophisticated, business-critical applications.
- Fixed Income or broader Capital Markets experience is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Independent, mature approach to troubleshooting and technical problem-solving.
