Your work will inform EDC’s strategy and foster public policy dialogue on key issues impacting Canada’s international trade and investment flows. You’ll collaborate with senior researchers, engage with external subject matter experts, and make a real impact on Canada’s global trade strategy.

  • Conduct qualitative analysis by interviewing experts within and outside EDC.
  • Interpret results and prepare reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.
  • Independently take on research projects from conception to completion over time.

  • Assist with ongoing data transformation projects, including embedding various macroeconomic and trade datasets into an enterprise data platform.
  • Structure tables, build routines for automated checks, and make data accessible through interactive dashboards.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in economics, public policy, mathematics or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in economic research, econometric analysis or economic impact.

  • Experience working with generative AI/Large Language Models (LLMs) to code, analyze data, generate charts/presentations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, especially in translating dense or technical concepts for lay audiences.
  • An appetite for learning trade data concepts, growing technical skillsets, and developing creative ways to leverage LLMs across a broad range of projects.
