About the Role
This position is responsible for analyzing and providing case support for CyberTipline reports, including triaging incoming reports, identifying links between reported information, and making reports available to law enforcement agencies. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, after-hours and weekend response, and collaboration on special projects. Candidates must be able to handle exposure to sensitive content, demonstrate high accuracy and thoroughness, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct background research on CyberTipline reports using internal and external sources to reduce child sexual exploitation.
- Review, triage, and process incoming reports and related information concerning suspected child sexual exploitation, prioritizing time-sensitive details.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency and after-hour requests from law enforcement.
- Respond to requests for Technical Assistance and information from law enforcement, external parties, and other NCMEC divisions.
- Review child sexual abuse material submitted to NCMEC’s CyberTipline for identified children, content and context tagging, victim identification, and survivor services assistance.
- Determine methods and approaches for conducting online queries using available databases.
- Monitor and maintain electronic files on reports and cases within the CyberTipline.
- Maintain an acceptable pace and quality of CyberTipline report processing after certification.
- Manage individual queue within the CyberTipline to ensure deadlines are met.
- Collaborate with ECD management on special projects and initiatives, including maintaining open source information, identifying trends, and updating law enforcement contact databases.
- Conduct tours of NCMEC for visiting law enforcement, external stakeholders, and the public to promote awareness.
- Provide demonstrations of ECD work for internal NCMEC staff.
- Assist with short-term projects that benefit the unit and participate in long-term CyberTipline Projects.
- Serve as a leader in the unit through mentorship of new staff and displaying exemplary CyberTipline report processing.
- Attend internal or external trainings as needed.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
- Promote and exhibit loyalty to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
- Promote a professional image.
- Communicate with co-workers, management, the public, law enforcement, and other agencies courteously and professionally.
- Respond promptly when returning telephone calls and replying to correspondence.
Requirements
- BA or BS from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of two years’ experience as a CyberTipline Analyst 1, preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Ability to travel as needed for conferences, training, or other external engagements.
- Must achieve and maintain an overall employee performance evaluation standard that meets and exceeds the minimum of an “expectation for competency”.
- Maintained an acceptable time and attendance record.
- Consistently demonstrated the ability and skills to undertake additional responsibilities within the ECD.
- Has not received any disciplinary or adverse action in the preceding 12 months.
Skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred with cultural competency with respect to Latin America highly desired.
- Strong passion for NCMEC’s mission.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, telephone, and written communications skills.
- Ability to prioritize a high workload, multi-task, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to handle and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of highly sensitive material and information.
