About the Role

Administer specific therapeutic treatments for symptoms and disorders amenable to acupuncture procedures, as referred by internal primary care physicians. Engage in the practice of acupuncture and related therapies to promote, maintain, and restore health.

Responsibilities

  • Take a detailed case history, including physical and emotional health, lifestyle, and diet.
  • Make a diagnosis and devise a personalized treatment plan.
  • Explain the diagnosis and treatment to the patient, addressing questions and concerns.
  • Provide an accurate diagnosis supported by medical findings using TCM and Western diagnostic techniques.
  • Treat patients by inserting fine needles into the skin at specific locations.
  • Incorporate other treatments such as moxibustion, electro-acupuncture, acupressure, and cupping.
  • Provide medically necessary acupuncture, consults, assessments, and treatments as authorized by physicians.
  • Provide quality treatment to cure or relieve medical conditions.
  • Document all treatments and patient responses in the EHR.
  • Perform other job duties as required by the Integrative Medicine manager.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience working as an acupuncturist.
  • Must possess a current/valid Licensed Acupuncturist from the State of California.
  • Current documentation of Basic Life Support is required.
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write English.
  • Fluency in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is required.
