About the Role
This is a build-and-run recruiting role with a focus on establishing a repeatable hiring engine. The successful candidate will own full-cycle recruiting, manage agency relationships, and develop the talent brand, reporting to the People Leader and partnering with People Operations and the Office Manager. The role requires comfort with ambiguity and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-evolving company.
Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle recruiting for technical and strategic non-technical roles, from sourcing through closing.
- Carry a meaningful req load personally.
- Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and success criteria.
- Hold the line on hiring bar during difficult searches.
- Build the hiring engine: repeatable sourcing motions, structured interview loops, scorecards, debrief norms, and closing strategies.
- Own and evolve the recruiting stack (Ashby), including data integrity, reporting, and tooling assessment.
- Manage agency and sourcing partner relationships and budget.
- Own the candidate experience from first outreach through offer acceptance.
- Develop talent brand through content, events, communities, and candidate touchpoints.
- Use data to run the function: pipeline health, conversion by stage, time-to-fill, and source effectiveness.
- Build reporting to operate proactively.
- Scope and build the talent team as hiring volume demands, making the case for headcount and managing team members.
Requirements
- 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including time at a high-growth startup, a talent-dense engineering organization, or a top-tier search firm.
- Proven track record closing hard-to-fill technical roles.
- Experience owning a recruiting function, including ATS ownership, process design, reporting, and agency management.
- Experience building and managing a small talent team (sourcers, coordinators, or recruiters).
- Comfort operating at both strategic and tactical levels.
- Ability to sell the vision and distill complex technical problems into compelling pitches.
- Conviction about talent quality and culture add over hitting a number.
- Judgment to know when a 'no' is worth the delay.
- Fluency with modern recruiting tooling (Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem/Juicebox, Slack, Notion).
- Comfort using data to spot problems before they become misses.
