Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for Pediatric Healthcare and EMS educational programs.
  • Support content development by reviewing and editing technical texts throughout the product development cycle.
  • Ensure accuracy and relevancy of Training Services program content.
  • Assist with continuing education accreditation for Training Services.
  • Review, approve, and quality monitor continuing education accredited programs.
  • Serve as an internal and external Red Cross medical SME/liaison.
  • Oversee and serve as subject matter expert regarding technical/medical content for Training Services programs and curricula.
  • Ensure developed content complies with guidance from the Scientific Advisory Council and other relevant standard-setting groups.
  • Direct and create scientific and medical content, write and review scripts, and provide applicable editing of created program materials.
  • Provide on-site subject matter expertise during the development of program materials, including photo and video shoots and production.
  • Analyze technical literature, write descriptive copy, and verify documentation.
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of material.
  • Review content during the production phase, including media assets, rough cut videos, programmed online course material, and print pages.
  • Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams to meet target launch dates.
  • Assist with the daily operations of the continuing education group, including obtaining and maintaining accreditation, oversight of accredited programs, quality assurance, and feedback for accredited programs.
  • Provide responses as needed for questions from staff, instructors, students, and training centers.
  • Provide education to staff, instructors, and instructor trainers.
  • Serve as speaker at professional organization meetings and trade shows as requested.
  • Serve as internal and external liaison based on the need for scientific and medical expertise.
  • Assist the Director, Healthcare Programs and Senior Director, Science and Education with support of the Scientific Advisory Council and as external liaisons.
  • Perform other business duties or tasks as assigned by Training Services leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Masters or Doctoral degree preferred.
  • Nursing experience required.
  • Active RN License preferred.
  • Specialty clinical certification preferred.
  • Experience and education in instructional systems design or education may be required.
  • Excellent command of the English language in both spoken and written forms.
  • Strong writing skills with a clear concise style and excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Ability to work with templates using an electronic content management system.
  • Proven ability to present information to groups of various sizes.
  • Evidence of speaking or teaching experience in a healthcare education environment.
  • Proficient in content medical editing and subject matter expertise, portfolio management, and vendor/contractor management in publishing or a related field.
  • Ability to demonstrate, evaluate, and remediate specialty area knowledge to the Red Cross standard.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or applicable software applications.
  • Ability to work on a team.
  • Ability to travel 20-30%.
  • Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in a small cubicle and sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pediatric and neonatal healthcare.
  • Current, active licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), or Physician (MD/DO) with applicable board certification.
  • Specialty clinical certification in a relevant area preferred.
  • Strong ability to provide clinical guidance and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
