About the Role
As a Senior Cloud & Data Security Architect, you will be a recognized technical leader and trusted advisor, shaping security strategy and delivering innovative security solutions for enterprise customers. You will act as a senior escalation point and subject matter expert, bridging the gap between technical implementation and business outcomes. This role involves leading the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud, data, and AI security solutions within a Microsoft-centric MSSP, helping customers strengthen their security posture through modern architectures, Zero Trust principles, and advanced threat defense. It combines strategic consulting, technical leadership, solution architecture, and customer engagement, with a focus on securing AI-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to VP and C-level stakeholders on security solutions and enterprise security programmes.
- Lead technical discussions to align security strategy with business goals and accelerate Cloud and Data security efforts.
- Advise clients on securing M365, Microsoft Azure Cloud, cyber security and UC platforms.
- Perform discovery, analysis, design, build, test and deployment of Microsoft security, compliance and identity (SCI) solutions.
- Support customers with migrations from incumbent technologies to Microsoft security solutions.
- Co-lead engagement delivery with project owners and provide technical oversight.
- Design and build Microsoft security reference architectures for public, private and hybrid cloud-based systems.
- Deliver technical reviews of cloud security architecture against strategic cloud security frameworks.
- Guide customers on zero trust and SASE, from technical gap analysis through to implementation.
- Apply Data Lifecycle Management techniques and approaches enabled by Microsoft Purview.
- Design and implement cloud-based Identity Management with Microsoft Entra ID.
- Work with customers to discover, design and implement data management solutions.
- Develop and deliver user stories and use cases.
- Support the sales team with expert customer guidance and identify up-sell opportunities.
- Contribute to marketing and Microsoft channel activity, including collateral, blogs, webinars, and speaking at events.
- Coach, lead and direct the team of consultants, providing technical, process and service leadership.
- Spearhead the development of solution offerings with and for Agentic AI.
- Engage with Microsoft product teams and conduct platform research to stay at the forefront of Microsoft's SCI roadmap.
- Advise executive management on current and emerging technologies to enhance security, reduce costs, and improve performance.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise to ITC's internal Product and Platform function, shaping service and platform development.
Requirements
- A strong foundation across the Microsoft Security solution stack, including on-premise, endpoint, Azure based solutions and Purview.
- Proven experience with Data Lifecycle Management techniques and approaches enabled by Microsoft Purview.
- Cloud-based Identity Management with Microsoft Entra ID.
- Hands-on experience of discovery, analysis, design, build, test and deployment of Microsoft SCI solutions.
- Good working knowledge of zero trust and SASE concepts, including technical gap analysis and implementation planning.
- A flair for communicating innovative cloud approaches and their benefits to clients, understanding their underlying business needs and goals, and giving expert advice to help resolve complex business problems.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience or hold some or all of the following certifications, or be willing to achieve them: SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, SC-401, SC-500, MD-102, MS-102, AZ-104, AZ-305, CISSP.
- Knowledge of security standards like CIS, NIST, PCI DSS, GDPR and Cyber Essentials.
- Understanding compliance and regulatory requirements related to data security.
- Experience delivering Microsoft focused pre-sales discovery engagements with customers.
- Demonstrate working in Agile environment.
- Degree level qualification or equivalent.
- Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and multi-task.
- Experience of, and comfort with, public speaking to support customer seminars or events.
- Certifications in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Cloud Security offerings.
- Experience with Microsoft, Google and Amazon cloud environments.
- Deployment experience of Microsoft 365 including Purview (Microsoft Information Protection, Insider Risk, Data Loss Prevention, Securing AI (inc DSPM), Data lifecycle management), Microsoft Defender (Microsoft Defender For Endpoint, Microsoft Defender For Identity, Microsoft Defender For Cloud Apps, Microsoft Defender For Office365), Entra Identity Protection, Microsoft Defender For Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Security Copilot.
- Ability to apply structured thinking, simplifying complex problems into component parts, to the resolution of project challenges.
- Workshop skill for conveying information to customers, lead meetings and provide actionable writeups of tasks / actions.
- Knowledge of modern application architectures and cloud platforms.
- Ability to consistently deliver quality within expected timeframes and on budget.
