About the Role

The Associate / Senior Associate will support Brookfield’s leadership in the energy transition by delivering innovative investment solutions that mobilize capital toward scalable energy and decarbonization opportunities. This role will collaborate with investment, sustainability, and asset management teams to design and structure investment vehicles and capital programs, and partner with Brookfield’s institutional investor base to build strategic investment partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Support new investment products by aligning LP capital allocation considerations with key Energy investment themes.
  • Assist in the research of new sectors and conduct preliminary screening of opportunities for future investment strategies.
  • Support the execution, structuring, and negotiation of equity capital solutions for existing and new fund investments.
  • Take ownership of select execution workstreams, working closely with the wider investment team to raise institutional capital for larger transactions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders with minimal oversight.
  • Reliably follow execution plans, identify risks, and proactively communicate timelines and execution milestones.
  • Contribute to internal meetings with senior team members, clearly presenting issues and assisting in recommending solutions.
  • Demonstrate increasing investor presence during investor outreach, working with advisors or Brookfield’s Global Client Group to identify and reach out to potential investment partners.
  • Support the preparation of investment memoranda, financial models, and due diligence materials.
  • Manage data rooms.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of the investment to lead investor diligence and support their analysis and review of the transaction.
  • Develop mastery of internal inputs and synthesize them into investor-ready messaging.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills with clear, compelling investor messaging from inquiry through delivery.
  • Communicate Brookfield’s Energy overall investment approach and specific investment highlights and performance.
  • Be thoughtful, proactive, responsive, and accurate in responding to LP inquiries.

Requirements

  • 3-8 years of experience in investment banking or direct investments or co-investment structuring/syndication.
  • Strong transactional experience in private markets.
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations, analyze quantitative and qualitative information, and make effective recommendations.
  • Able to effectively manage junior team members and demonstrate a commitment to shared success.
  • Proactive self-starter who is able to handle pressure effectively.
  • Can lead select transaction execution workstreams independently with strong project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a particular strength in liaising with cross-functional teams and senior investment decision makers.
