About the Role

LAWPRO is seeking a Data/BI Analyst for a 12-month contract position. This role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a respected organization that supports Canada's legal community by developing reports and dashboards using tools like Excel, Power Query, and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, compose, and maintain Excel and Power Query reports from various data sources.
  • Develop, compose, maintain, and publish Power BI dashboards to visualize data from various data sources.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable reports and/or dashboards.
  • Integrate Microsoft Power BI dashboards, Excel, and M-Query reports into SharePoint and other systems.
  • Train and support team members on modifying and using reports and Power BI dashboards.
  • Leverage Python and other tools to extract, parse, clean, normalize, and transform data.
  • Continuously monitor, refine, and optimize reports and dashboards for performance, accuracy, reliability, and responsiveness.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in reporting, data visualization, Power BI, SharePoint integration, and database management.
  • Identify and refine ERD’s (Entity Relationship Diagrams) of various data sources.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in data extraction from various sources; parsing, normalizing, cleaning, transforming, and loading data.
  • Proficiency in Python programming for data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load).
  • Proficiency in database SQL queries/management.
  • Demonstrated strengths in problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and active listening.
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, and able to work with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient with data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing concepts and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint administration, customization, and optimization.

Salary/Compensations

  • $71,000 per year
