About the Role
JRS Pharma LP is seeking an experienced Scientist II to join our U.S. team in Patterson, NY, to contribute to Research & Development operations. This role is vital in advancing innovative excipient solutions and supporting product development, evaluation, and optimization to meet market needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute laboratory studies.
- Analyze and interpret technical data.
- Develop and optimize formulations and processes.
- Maintain accurate scientific documentation in accordance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate across R&D, Quality, Operations, Sales, and other technical functions.
- Translate scientific insights into practical solutions.
- Conduct research and new product development.
- Write detailed technical reports.
- Maintain laboratories and supplies.
- Perform occasional customer interface.
- Communicate progress verbally and through documentation.
- Make daily electronic notebook entries.
- Prepare technical protocols and reports.
- Deliver presentations for company meetings, internally, and with customers.
- Read trade journals, attend webinars, and training courses/workshops annually to understand industry needs.
- Conduct experiments to assess and confirm the quality and functionality of JRS commercial products.
- Develop new excipient products.
- Conduct functionality testing and evaluations of products in support of raw material and/or manufacturing changes.
- Summarize testing results with conclusions and recommendations.
- Generate, review, and analyze formulation and process data.
- Document experimental plans, execute plans and trials, and formally report and interpret data.
- Test products and materials to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
- Prepare and review controlled documentation, including experimental protocols and reports, validation protocols and reports, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Perform product testing of customer-submitted samples to support sales.
- Provide guidance and support for interns.
- Maintain a safe working environment and report any safety issues.
- Keep laboratory equipment and instruments clean and in good working order.
- Maintain inventory of lab supplies and order as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with emphasis on accurate documentation and data interpretation.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Skills
- Familiarity with methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Familiarity with standard processing equipment used in dosage form production.
- Excellent presentation skills.
