About the Role
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced and energetic Portfolio Engineering Lead (PEL) to help lead our established and rapidly expanding engineering team in the CEMA Business Area. The PEL will partner with the business and lead engineering activities for their portfolio of programs, serving as part of the Engineering Leadership team for the Advanced Compact EW Solutions (ACES) Product Line. ACES is a diverse and growing product line with advanced technology development and high-rate production programs focused on protecting the warfighter.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering activities for their portfolio of programs.
- Serve as a Portfolio Engineering Lead (PEL) working as part of the Engineering Leadership team for the Advanced Compact EW Solutions (ACES) Product Line.
- Partner with the business.
- Lead diverse multi-disciplinary teams in the solution of complex technical problems.
- Manage project engineering, including organizational design, planning, estimating, design management, and product verification.
- Develop engineering estimates and apply project management principles inclusive of scope management, resource planning, and management of risks and opportunities.
- Demonstrate leadership, build internal and external partnerships, grow team members, and partner with the business.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- At least 12 years of experience in engineering development of complex electronic systems and the transition to manufacturing.
- Experience leading diverse multi-disciplinary teams in the solution of complex technical problems.
- Experience in project engineering management including organizational design, planning, estimating, design management, and product verification.
- Experience in developing engineering estimates and applying project management principles inclusive of scope management, resource planning, and management of risks and opportunities.
- Experience in leadership, building internal and external partnerships, growing team members and partnering with the business.
- Direct experience supporting Department of Defense Classified Development Programs.
- Experience using Design to Cost (DTC) methods; leading to technical solutions that meet affordability and producibility requirements.
