About the Role

CAA ICON is seeking an exceptional Senior Project Manager to join their European team in Sheffield. This role involves managing the delivery of iconic sports, entertainment, and public assembly venues, inspiring communities and creating unforgettable fan experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Adopt and support a collaborative-led project culture with high health, safety, and well-being standards.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project requirements document (brief) in collaboration with clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage or support the procurement of professional consultants, contractors, and specialist consultants.
  • Provide day-to-day project coordination, including meeting arrangements, action monitoring, and communicating client requirements, program, and budget targets.
  • Support design development, focusing on the implementation of client requirements.
  • Review cost estimates and contribute to project budget reports.
  • Establish project controls and client reporting processes, including compiling and presenting update reports.
  • Undertake the contract administration role as an Employer’s Agent.
  • Establish and administer project change procedures with the cost management consultant.
  • Be based on-site during the construction phase to monitor progress and resolve risks and issues.
  • Support the review and approval of consultant and contractor payment applications.
  • Maintain necessary documentation for contracts, insurance certificates, and warranties.
  • Develop and manage the project risk register and track mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate with project architects, engineering consultants, and sub-contractors to resolve on-site risks, issues, and design conflicts.
  • Manage the attainment of necessary statutory approvals, permits, and certificates for venue opening and occupation.
  • Coordinate and manage project close-out activities, including final acceptance, testing, commissioning, and compilation of manuals.
  • Ensure the Contractor implements and maintains site logistics and safety procedures.
  • Manage the procurement and safe delivery of scope delivered directly by the client.
  • Manage project issues to ensure timely and effective resolution.

Requirements

  • A team leader with the ability to develop positive relationships and interact effectively with clients, contractors, and the wider project team.
  • Minimum 10 years of previous experience in construction or a related services industry, working in project management and employers agent roles.
  • Good understanding of project phases, construction change processes, budget management, and architectural/engineering plans.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, project programs, and project agreements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and a desire to continue learning.
  • Ability to thrive on accepting accountability for delivering under pressure while maintaining integrity.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications, especially Project and Excel.
  • The desire to work on exciting sports, entertainment, and public assembly projects in the UK and Europe.
