About the Role

This part-time teaching role offers flexibility for childcare professionals to bring their industry knowledge into the classroom and make a difference to learners. You will deliver high-quality teaching across various Childcare and Supporting Teaching and Learning programmes, acting as a Personal Tutor and Course Leader, contributing to curriculum development and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, motivating and inclusive sessions across Childcare and Supporting Teaching and Learning programmes at Levels 1 to 6, including T Level Early Years and HE programmes.
  • Adapt teaching approach to suit learners of different ages, backgrounds and abilities.
  • Monitor and track learner progress, maintain accurate records and statistical data.
  • Ensure learners are supported through assessment, work placements and progression to employment or further study.
  • Act as Personal Tutor and/or Course Leader, monitoring attendance, liaising with parents and guardians.
  • Lead quality assurance activity and support the smooth running of programme areas.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, development and improvement, keeping provision current and aligned to sector and awarding body requirements.
  • Support the development and management of safe, appropriate work placement opportunities for learners.
  • Participate in induction, advice and guidance events, open days, parents evenings and enrolment.
  • Contribute to the College's quality assurance and inspection preparation processes.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree in Early Years, Childcare, Education or a closely related subject.
  • A relevant teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE/CertEd or equivalent).
  • Relevant vocational experience in childcare, Early Years or a related sector.
  • Successful teaching experience including the delivery and assessment of Supporting Teaching and Learning courses.
  • Experience of teaching learners across a range of abilities, ages and backgrounds.
  • Proven classroom management and administrative skills.
  • Good IT skills and ability to contribute to the development of ILT strategies.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant subject (preferred).
  • An assessor award or Internal Quality Assurance qualification (preferred).
  • Experience delivering T Level Early Years provision (preferred).
  • Experience of curriculum development (preferred).
