About the Role
This role will oversee the legal aspects of Major League and Minor League Baseball’s domestic and international commercial activities, including licensing, products, events, marketing, sponsorship, ticketing, gaming, technology, data privacy, and information security.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate and structure commercial agreements based on business and operational unit needs.
- Communicate regularly with Clubs regarding league agreements related to business operations and technology.
- Provide general in-house legal services and advice to business and operational units.
- Provide oversight, strategy, and direction to outside counsel.
Requirements
- Member of New York State Bar in good standing.
- Top academic credentials and references.
- Minimum of four (4) years as a practicing lawyer, preferably with at least several years’ experience in a well-regarded law firm.
- Significant transactional experience negotiating and structuring major licensing and other commercial agreements.
- Excellent communication skills; strong ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Must work effectively in a fast-paced environment, interacting regularly with senior management.
- Must be able to simultaneously accomplish multiple quantitatively and qualitatively challenging tasks.
