About the Role
Major League Baseball seeks a Coordinator, Legal & Business Affairs (Contract) to manage legal aspects of domestic and international commercial activities, including licensing, events, marketing, sponsorship, gaming, and technology.
Responsibilities
- Support lawyers and senior staff in various legal and business affairs functions.
- Collaborate with internal business units and external partners to clarify business goals and draft contract terms.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate transactional agreements under legal counsel oversight.
- Maintain and update contract templates and boilerplate language.
- Conduct preliminary reviews of NDAs, DPAs, terms of service, and EULAs.
- Assist with the review of marketing, advertising, and promotional materials.
- Support the development of internal policies, terms, and conditions.
- Perform legal research to support the Business & Technology Legal team.
- Assist with departmental projects, administrative tasks, and special assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years’ experience as a contract administrator / transactional paralegal (or equivalent).
- Law firm or in-house legal team experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Strong academic credentials and references.
- Ability to handle privileged, confidential, and sensitive information appropriately and professionally.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and simultaneously accomplish multiple challenging tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace, Litera Compare, Ironclad or other contract lifecycle management systems, and Internet research.
