About the Role
LAWPRO is seeking an experienced lawyer to join the Claims Prevention and Stakeholder Relations (CPSR) team as PracticePRO Counsel. This role involves supporting Ontario lawyers by developing resources, tools, and educational programs, combining legal knowledge with education, writing, presenting, and relationship-building.
Responsibilities
- Research, develop, and deliver practical resources for lawyers, including presentations, articles, checklists, videos, and other educational content.
- Help lawyers reduce claims risk, address practice challenges, and improve client service.
- Translate complex legal and practice management issues into practical, accessible guidance.
- Create engaging content for both legal and non-legal audiences.
- Develop educational resources proactively and creatively.
- Stay current on legal and industry developments and update materials accordingly.
- Deliver CPD programs, conference presentations, webinars, and short-form video content.
- Travel throughout Ontario.
- Embrace new technologies to enhance learning, engagement, collaboration, and user experience.
Requirements
- Licensed lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- At least five years of legal practice experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: real estate, civil litigation, corporate/commercial law, bodily injury, wills and estates, tax law, and/or legal practice management.
- Enjoy researching complex legal and practice management issues.
- Exceptional writing skills.
- Proactive and creative approach to developing educational resources.
- Ability to stay current on legal and industry developments.
- Confident and engaging presenter.
- Willingness to travel throughout Ontario.
- Balance strong attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture.
- Adaptable and comfortable communicating in an approachable and conversational style.
- Embrace new technologies and use them effectively.
- Demonstrate a commitment to LAWPRO's vision, values, and organizational goals.
