About the Role

The Electrical Assembler performs a wide range of assembly and integration tasks for ruggedized electrical and electronic enclosures, sub-assemblies, and integrated systems. This role supports the end-to-end production process, including assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and AS9100 quality standards. The position ensures product quality, efficiency, and consistency, with senior roles providing guidance and training.

Responsibilities

  • Route, wire, assemble, and install electrical and electronic components in ruggedized cabinets, enclosures, and consoles according to specifications.
  • Cut wire to specified lengths and prepare wire ends for connection.
  • Crimp terminal eyelets and lugs to wire ends.
  • Route, comb, twist, wrap, tie, and attach wire to terminal points.
  • Connect wiring to accessories such as relays, circuit breakers, plugs, condensers, and switches.
  • Install accessory assemblies in electrical or electronic units.
  • Conduct continuity, insulation resistance, dielectric strength, and operational tests of electrical assemblies, components, and wire harness.
  • Assemble components to a final configured product utilizing process instructions, blueprints, and specialized tooling.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine assembly methods.
  • Work as an individual or in a team environment.
  • Stage inspection of product at required intervals.
  • Perform final inspection and release paperwork prior to delivery.
  • Report any quality control issues to the supervisor.
  • Use measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, digital multimeters, and automated cable testers.
  • Connect wiring to accessories such as relays, circuit breakers, plugs, condensers, switches, and solenoids.
  • Conduct functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, and plugs using appropriate instruments.

Requirements

  • Ability to read electrical schematics and understand assembly electrical codes.
  • Basic computer navigation and utilization skills to access production documents.
  • Mathematical skills including fractions and decimals.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience leading or training employees in an assembly or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to monitor workflow and allocate tasks effectively among team members.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and operational procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to foster teamwork and accountability.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in a production environment.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moderate noise, moving mechanical parts, and occasional vibration.
  • Requires the use of ESD/Safety shoes and Safety Glasses when required.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Person status is required.
  • Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of U.S. regulations.
