About the Role
You will act as a scientific expert for prostate cancer in your assigned region, responsible for implementing the Medical Affairs product and indication plan, and building and maintaining scientific partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Conduct proactive and reactive scientific exchange with external experts in clinical practice and research (HCP inquiries), communicating in-label product data, discussing clinical trial programs, and scientific information on products and indications in development.
- Implement the centrally approved Medical Plan in your region, coordinate indication-specific topics and alignments with internal medical functions, and obtain answers and core information for the indication.
- Gain strategic knowledge of treatment algorithms, scientific activities, and developments in core indications, contributing to the identification of unmet needs and data gaps that form the basis for future patient-centered solutions.
- Proactively support the development and implementation of medical strategies.
- In collaboration with Global Clinical Operations (GCO), identify potential study centers, build strong partnerships with study centers, and support the selection of study centers and investigators, as well as the setup, planning, and execution of interventional and non-interventional studies.
- Prepare for and participate in Investigator Meetings, and present study results as a partner of GCO.
- Identify the need for supra-regional and regional Medical Education activities, plan their content, and conduct them.
- Participate in scientific discussions with speakers and give presentations upon invitation from the scientific advisory board.
- Represent the company with scientific excellence at national and international congresses, Investigator Meetings, and Medical Education Events.
- Support Advisory Board Meetings organizationally.
- Build and expand a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) network, engage in professional societies and health policy organizations, and shape the health policy environment through equal medical-scientific partnerships.
- Evaluate and prepare current medical-scientific information from specialist literature, considering regional needs and central strategy.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Medicine, Natural Sciences, or Pharmacy; PhD preferred.
- Sufficient scientific experience in a human medical-clinical context, preferably with experience in uro-oncology and specifically in prostate cancer.
- Alternatively, experience as an MSL or in other medical functions would be advantageous.
- Hands-on mentality, resilience, and professional demeanor, even in unusual or demanding clinical situations, are required.
- Strong project management skills, experience in coordinating interdisciplinary teams, and a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel and the ability to work autonomously in the region are required.
- Experience in clinical study planning and investigator engagement is desirable.
- An existing network in professional societies and with KOLs in uro-oncology or prostate cancer is desirable.
- Experience in Medical Education, Advisory Boards, congress, and project management is desirable.
- Knowledge of the current treatment landscape and relevant care pathways for prostate cancer is advantageous.
